Still frosty

May continues with its cold theme, since there was a ground frost this morning. The air temperature got down to 1.0 C, but there were white patches on exposed surfaces outside. It's not unheard of to get frosts in May, but the weather has been consistently colder than usual for almost a year now. Although the Met Office has given up on seasonal forecasts after last year's prediction of a 'barbecue summer' fizzled in a summer of cool temperatures and torrential rain, their longest range forecast (up to 30 days) has June beginning on a colder-than-usual note. We will see...
