A touch of thunder

The weather has, thank god, turned much much cooler since the hellish day last Saturday when it hit 26 C. May looks set to end on a cool note, though whether the cool conditions will persist throughout the summer, as they have done for the past couple of years, remains to be seen. We can only hope.

Yesterday Monifieth had a few rumbles of thunder, although nothing very dramatic. Apparently the centre of the storm was some 6 miles to the west in Dundee city, where there were reports of lightning strikes, loud thunder and a hail storm. Out here, the weather was considerably less dramatic with only a few dark clouds and a scattering of rain.
