New low pressure record for Monifieth

The previous low pressure record of 959.6 mb (set jointly on two separate dates of 3 Dec 2006 and 10 March 2008) has just been broken, as the barometer dropped to 959.5. However, it's still falling so I'll wait a while to see where it bottoms out before I update the archives page.

Usually such a low pressure means a considerable storm, but although the weather has been a bit windy, it's mainly just a succession of dull grey skies with a few showers off and on at the moment.

The temperature trend for 2010 continues its below normal theme, with November shaping up as significantly colder than normal. Even after I redefined the 'normal' values for my weather station to be the averages over the seven year period from July 2003 to June 2010 (which lowered the 'normal' values slightly over what I was using before), all months in 2010 except for June have been solidly below normal, with 2010 shaping up to be easily the coldest year on record for the Monifieth station. Move along folks, there's no global warming to see here...
