The low pressure cell has now passed Monifieth, and the new lowest barometric pressure was 955.2 mb, recorded around 21.10 on 11 November 2010. Disappointingly, it wasn't accompanied by any dramatic weather; we had a few showers and a moderate breeze, but that's it.
For comparison, the pressure in the eye of a hurricane is typically well below 900 mb, so I suppose I shouldn't expect anything truly dramatic (not that I'd welcome a hurricane in Scotland), but at least some steady rain would have been nice.
